(Medford, OR) - At the Credit Union Association of Oregon Annual Awards Banquet on October 8, 2008, Rogue Federal Credit Union received top recognition. For the first time that anyone can remember, Rogue Federal swept the three community service awards by winning first place in the Desjardins Youth Education Award (recognizes leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of youth financial literacy), the Dora Maxwell Award (recognizes outstanding social responsibility projects implemented in the community in which the credit union is located), and the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action (recognizes credit unions that make exceptional efforts to include credit union philosophy in their daily operations and member service).

To top it all off...Chief Financial Officer, Matt Stephenson, won the Heideman Scholar Award which recognizes a credit union professional who has made good use of educational opportunities and who has contributed in return to the credit union movement. This is Stephenson's second statewide award in less than 5 years of service with Rogue Federal and the Oregon credit union movement (the first was the Young Professional Award).

Rogue Federal's first place recognitions make them eligible for the national competition for these awards scheduled to take place later on this year.

When asked to comment, Rogue Federal President and CEO Gene Pelham said, "What an accomplishment! I am so proud of each of our awardees and our credit union! This was truly a team effort from not only Rogue Federal staff, but also their families for their dedication to the communities they serve through the various projects they have volunteered for."
