(Medford, OR) - For the past three years staff from Rogue Federal Credit Union have attended Western CUNA Management School (WCMS), located in Claremont, California. For more than 40 years this school has helped credit union management staff meet the challenges of the future by offering a powerful curriculum. Over a three-year period, students have five opportunities to earn academic honors. "Honors" and "High Honors" are awarded to the highest achievers on end of year tests taken by all students. Students may also earn "Honors" and "High Honors" for the analysis of each of their two projects.

As the 47th session of the school recently WCMScame to a close, Matt Stephenson, Rogue Federal's Chief Financial Officer, earned "High Honors" in the school's five academic categories and was awarded "Highest Honors" in his final year. This accomplishment has only been met five times in WCMS history. Stephenson also received the Charles M. Clark Memorial Award, given to the senior student nominated by his or her class who best represents high moral character, leadership, credit union dedication, and academic achievement.

Karen Zerger, Regional Operations Director, received "Honors" on her second year test and project. While Alan Jackson, Information Services Director, received "High Honors" on his first year test at WCMS.  Both Zerger and Jackson are among the top students in their classes. Gene Pelham, President/CEO of Rogue Federal Credit Union, stated, "While this may seem standard fare for Rogue Federal, the number of high performing students that we have had is absolutely remarkable. To receive "Honors" and "High Honors" is very difficult and to do it on a consistent basis is even more difficult. Each of our folks that attended this year had a huge positive impact on the school. As a trustee for WCMS I am very proud of all of their accomplishments".
