RFCU Awards Scholarships

(Medford, OR) - Each year, Rogue Federal Credit Union offers six scholarships to graduating high school seniors and one to an enrolled college student. All scholarships are a one-time gift of $1,500 and are based on academics, school involvement, and community involvement. The committee reviewed over 100 applications this year.

The Harry Wright Scholarship, named for a long-time board member of RFCU, has been awarded to Alyssa Teterud. Alyssa is a recent graduate of Cascade Christian High School.

The Vern Voss Scholarship, new this year to Rogue Federal's program, was established for a long-time board member and volunteer of RFCU and awarded to Travis Owens. Travis is a recent graduate of Eagle Point High School.

Rachel Klabunde received the Vern and Marti Arnold Scholarship; this scholarship was established to recognize Vern and Marti's never ending belief in education as a path to personal and community growth. Rachel is a graduate of North Medford High School.

The Josephine County Scholarship was awarded to Allen Dean of North Valley High School.

The Klamath County Scholarship was awarded to Travis Clark of Henley High School.

The Rogue Federal Employee Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior of whose parent is an employee of RFCU. This scholarship is in recognition of the fact that the families of our employees contribute greatly to the success of RFCU. The Rogue Federal Scholarship was awarded to Danielle Hughes who is a North Medford High School graduate.

The Jim and Harriet Johnston Scholarship is awarded to a student currently attending Southern Oregon University, was a graduate of a high school in Jackson County and who is or whose family has been a member of Rogue Federal for at least two years. This year's recipient of the Jim and Harriet Johnston Scholarship was Stephen Perkins.

Rogue Federal Credit Union has extensive service offerings for member's birth to 24 years of age. The programs are designed to provide educational and saving opportunities for young members and to help them better understand personl finance. Rogue Federal is a firm believer in educating youth about finances to ensure them a financially secure future!

For members 0-11 years of age we have our Kitty Club Program. This program offers deposit incentives, newsletter and contests to further teach young members the concept of saving.

For members 12-14 years of age RFCU has introduced CU Achieve Middle School, which offers members a savings account, ATM card, CU Succeed newsletter, and interactive website just for teens, deposit incentives and an educational seminar program.

CU Succeed High School is for members 15-18 years of age. CU Succeed members are eligible for a free checking account, debit card, credit card, CU Succeed newsletter, website just for teens, deposit incentives and an educational seminar program.

For members 19-24 there is CU Prosper which offers members a wide array of products and a 3-class educational seminar program. Each seminar program is specific to the age groups to assure their financial success.
